“TELEPATH” continues to invite leading figures from around the world who are breaking new ground at the forefront of an ever-evolving electronic music scene.
Three floors at WOMB each unfold their own distinct concepts, revealing the full scope of TELEPATH.
Headlining the 2F “WORMHOLE FLOOR” is A Strange Wedding, a French-born visionary of psychedelic sound design, making his long-awaited appearance. Exploring techno in its most psychedelic form, his sound creates a soundscape that seems to tear open a rift in space-time and expand into unknown territories. For this occasion, he will present an exclusive LIVE set.
Also summoned to the floor is Herbalistek, a Tokyo-based producer/DJ duo that has established itself as a leading force in Japan’s experimental bass music scene. While earning international recognition, they continue to move beyond the confines of bass music, most recently delivering a stunning performance at Refractor Festival in Spain, hosted by Jam Swam. Their meticulously constructed SET is not to be missed. Sound design will be overseen by Satoru Yamada, a sound engineer whose presence has become indispensable to TELEPATH.
The 4F “AFTER LIFE FLOOR” is curated by Shinsuke Goto, who co-hosts the regular techno party “AFTER LIFE” with Mari Sakurai at “翠月-Mitsuki-”.
With a spirit of constantly embracing new sounds while rooted in techno, an insight that commands the space through deep selections, and a resonant energy that can explosively ignite the floor, Shinsuke Goto brings all of these qualities together. Mimu, founder of the underground rave “Paramount,” one of Japan’s underground scene’s proudest institutions, and a curator known for cutting-edge bookings. 7e, founder of Queer Party “SLICK,” embodies psychedelia beyond genre boundaries as a player. These three artists, each continually updating the underground through their own sensibilities, converge on the AFTER LIFE FLOOR.
The 1F “LIMINAL DREAMS FLOOR” continues to be curated by the ambient collective “LIMINAL DREAMS,” who brought an experimental chill-out space to WOMB at the previous TELEPATH.
Alongside “LIMINAL DREAMS,” centered around deep listening, is Toner, founder of “The Line Shifting to Dots,” which experiments with deconstructing and crossing the formats of dance music. 1729 pursues forms of expression that connect to the fundamental realm of “listening,” through projects including exhibitions at Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (YCAM) and production at Kyushu University’s Acoustic Special Facility.
Also joining is Hue Ray, co-host of E.O.U, Vís, and “vivo,” weaving together diverse styles including tribal, dub, house, and techno to express a unique algorithm. Meanwhile, fuwatty, who works in VJ and spatial expression centered on the properties and perception of light, will once again bring depth and variation to the 1F floor.
From LIMINAL DREAMS to AFTER LIFE, and then to WORMHOLE.
Step into the unknown space-time that TELEPATH unfolds.
