UNBOUND began with a vision to bring together Tokyo’s underground art scene, techno that shakes the night, and avant-garde rope art rooted in the traditions of Japanese bondage. This year marks a celebratory edition as UNBOUND reaches its 5th anniversary. For the past five years, we have continued to explore the boundaries between this world and the world beyond. Now, those boundaries are more blurred than ever.

This chapter features legendary kinbaku master Go Arisue, who has been active since the early 1980s. Viewing kinbaku as a practice connected to sacred rituals, he collaborates with floral artist Tÿærbi Epoché to bring a world of offerings to the gods and Buddhas to life at WOMB.

Across three floors, more than 40 artists will take audiences on an extraordinary audiovisual journey into the unknown.
