WOMB—an iconic symbol of Tokyo’s Shibuya dance music culture, renowned worldwide—celebrates its 26th anniversary with a special party on Friday, April 24. Opening the door to the next quarter-century, this milestone night welcomes back Richie Hawtin, an artist who has long shared a deep respect for Japanese culture and played a key role in WOMB’s history.

On 2F, Richie Hawtin delivers a DJ set alongside longtime collaborator DJ Sodeyama, and Occa, who joined him during his 2024 Japan tour at Sapporo’s Precious Hall.

The acclaimed anniversary project series “RICHIE HAWTIN × WOMB × SAKE BREWERY” also returns. This year’s partner is Fukushima-based haccoba. Under Richie Hawtin’s direction, an original sake—“SPARK 26”—has been developed exclusively for WOMB’s 26th anniversary and will be unveiled to the world for the first time on this night.

On 1F, the SAKE LOUNGE returns, offering tastings of SPARK 26. From Osaka, Yama, known for DJ Nobu’s WOMB resident party Reprise and a frequent WOMB performer, joins alongside Kyoto’s Chanaz, with Word of Mouth returning for another special set.

On 4F, Bobby. arrives from London—previously appearing at WOMB’s countdown alongside Craig Richards—joined by WOMB regular Satoshi Otsuki and next-generation talent Levolant.

Supervised by Richie Hawtin, the original sake “SPARK 26” will make its world premiere on the night of the event.

Crafted to achieve a balance of freshness and complexity, this sparkling sake is fermented with rice and distillation lees from the nearby craft gin distillery naturadistill. Using the lees from their seasonal spring gin “Ume Blossom & Mikan Distilled Spirit,” it carries layered botanical aromas—juniper berries, plum blossom, mandarin, and strawberry—delivering a gentle yet complex expression. A bottle that brings the richness of Fukushima’s local ingredients to the world.
