Without this club, dance music as we know it might not exist.

In 1976, on the island of Ibiza, a philosopher rented an old whitewashed farmhouse and transformed it into a dancefloor. He called it “AMNESIA.” A place to forget. A place to leave everyday life behind and surrender completely to the music.

1980s — The Sunrise That Changed the World. As the sun rose over the open-air dancefloor, DJ Alfredo broke down the boundaries between disco, pop, and house, blending genres in a way no one had heard before. This was the birth of the Balearic Beat.

In the summer of 1987, a group of young British DJs stumbled onto this dancefloor. Among them was Paul Oakenfold, who would later become one of the world's most influential DJs. They took that experience back to the UK. Acid house exploded in London, and the excitement grew into the rave movement, sweeping across Europe and eventually the world. Trace the roots of the music playing in clubs around the globe today, and you'll find yourself back at an Ibiza sunrise.

1990s–2000s — Bringing Techno to Paradise. Ibiza was an island dominated by house music. There was little room for techno. In 1999, Sven Väth and COCOON changed everything. Richie Hawtin. Ricardo Villalobos. Artists who would go on to become global icons helped shape their legacies on this dancefloor. Techno became part of Ibiza's DNA.

The Invention of the Foam Party. Imagine a dancefloor filled with foam all the way to the ceiling. ESPUMA. This wild phenomenon, born at AMNESIA, spread to the UK, Miami, and cities across the United States. The iconic image of Ibiza's legendary foam parties? It all started here.

From Marco Carola's Music On to Joseph Capriati's METAMORFOSI, AMNESIA has continued to host some of the world's most celebrated parties. Even Paris Hilton has stepped behind the decks on its foam-filled dancefloor. The club has also been crowned the world's best club four times.

AMNESIA's past and present are coming to Tokyo.

Mar-T has spent more than half of AMNESIA's 50-year history behind its decks. A resident since 1999, he is the longest-serving resident DJ in the club's history. At a time when techno barely had an audience in Ibiza, he was the one who first helped bring COCOON's residency to life. From the days of the open-air terrace to the countless sunrises that followed, he has witnessed it all. When Mar-T steps into the DJ booth, a living piece of AMNESIA's history steps in with him.

Marco Faraone stands as one of AMNESIA's most trusted main residents today. Having honed his craft at Florence's legendary TENAX, he went on to release music on Adam Beyer's Drumcode and win Best Techno DJ at the Ibiza DJ Awards. Entrusted with both the opening and closing parties of AMNESIA's 50th anniversary, he has become one of the defining faces of the club's modern era. Faraone describes AMNESIA as one of the few clubs that has managed to preserve its authentic soul. He openly calls it his favorite club in the world.

One man helped build the legend. The other continues to write its next chapter. Now, both take over the decks at WOMB, one of Japan's most iconic nightclubs.

And for the first time, the legendary spirit of AMNESIA Ibiza arrives at WOMB Tokyo, bringing half a century of history, freedom, and dancefloor euphoria across the ocean.

A special night where the roots of global club culture meet its cutting edge.
